Peach-Pit ピーチ・ピット

Japanese mangaka duo

Peach-Pit is a female manga artist duo in Japan, made up of Banri Sendo (千道万里, Sendō Banri) and Shibuko Ebara (えばら渋子, Ebara Shibuko). Their group name derives from the diner hangout Peach-Pit from the TV show Beverly Hills, 90210. Although both have similar styles, with some artwork it is possible to identify which artist drew it. Both are known for their bishōjo styled works.

The two of them grew up together and went to the same elementary school and have been best friends ever since. Both started as dōjinshi manga artists, but not as Peach-Pit. Then they were scouted by Dengeki Comic Gao!. In 2008, one of their manga, Shugo Chara!, was awarded the Kodansha Manga Award for best children's manga. Shugo Chara was also turned later into an anime television series.

Pichelli, Sara (1983 - )

Italian fumettista

Pichelli is best known for co-creating and first illustrating the Miles Morales version of Ultimate Spider-Man. She started her career in animation and entered the comic book industry working for IDW Publishing before joining Marvel Comics in 2008 after being discovered in an international talent search. Pichelli worked on several Marvel titles, such as Namora and was then hired as the main artist on the second volume of Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, which premiered in September 2011. Pichelli won a 2011 Eagle Awards for Favorite Newcomer Artist.

Pichelli started working in the comic book industry after meeting comics artist David Messina. Prior to that, she was not particularly interested in comics and preferred animated films and anime. She worked as a layout assistant for Messina and worked on such titles as the Star Trek comic book series produced by IDW Publishing, including such editions as Star Trek: Countdown and Star Trek: Nero. In 2008 she submitted her work to the Chesterquest international talent search and was named one of the finalists by Marvel Comics editor C. B. Cebulski, which led to her working for Marvel. She illustrates for Marvel from her home in Rome.

In 2010, Pichelli joined the team working on Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man starting with the October issue #15. After that series ended, Pichelli contributed to the 2011 limited series Ultimate Fallout, where she illustrated the first image of the Spider-Man character as portrayed by Miles Morales in the Ultimate Marvel universe. Pichelli took on regular art duties on the relaunched Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man with Morales as the protagonist, starting in September 2011.

Pinheiro, Bianca (1987 - )

Brazilian comic artist and illustrator

Pinheiro has been called one of the most versatile comic authors of her generation and first came to notice with the webcomic Bear (2012), and then created independent comics such as 'Dora' (2014), Meu Pai É Um Homem da Montanha (2015), and Alho-Poró (2017), as well as the more experimental and minimalistic 'Eles Estão por Aí' (2018) and Sob o Solo (2019) with Greg Stella.

Pinheiro began publishing webcomics on a blog she launched with some friends in 2012. The following year, she created the webcomic Bear, about a lost girl who befriends a bear. Following its success, three print volumes were published by Editora Nemo between 2014 and 2016.

Because of her work on Bear, Pinheiro was invited to create the graphic novel Mônica - Força (2016). It was part of the Graphic MSP series, which collects interpretations of Mauricio de Sousa's classic characters by artists from Brazil's independent comic scene. Bianca's graphic novel starred Mônica, De Sousa's most iconic characters. The book had a sequel called Mônica - Tesouros (2019).

Pinheiro has also won the Troféu HQ Mix, the most important Brazilian comics award, three times. In 2015 in the category Best New Talent/Writer (for Bear and Dora), in 2017 for Best children's publication (Mônica - Força) and in 2018 for Best Independent Publication (Alho-Poró). In 2018, She also won the APCA Trophy, from the São Paulo Association of Art Critics, in the Comics category.

Pini, Wendy (1951 - )

American comic book illustrator

Wendy Fletcher and Richard Pini are the husband-and-wife team responsible for creating the well-known Elfquest series of comics, graphic novels and prose works. They are also known as WaRP (as in Warp Graphics).

Elfquest, a fantasy story about a community of elves, was launched in 1978 with art and co-writing by Wendy Pini. Richard Pini, who had been working for IBM, is credited as co-writer and editor on Elfquest, as well as handling all of the publishing and business aspects of Warp Graphics.

Pollack, Rachel (1945-2023)

American science fiction writer, author, and comic book writer

Pollack was one of DC Comics first trans writers, starting with Doom Patrol, where she created the trans heroine, Coagula (Kate Godwin).

Pollack wrote for the comic book Doom Patrol, on DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, from 1993 to 1995. Her run of issues (64–87) was a continuation of a 1960s comic which had recently become a cult favorite under Grant Morrison. During her tenure, Pollack dealt with such rarely addressed comic book topics as menstruation, sexual identity, and transsexuality. Her run ended two years later, with the book's cancellation.

Pond, Mimi (1956 - )

American cartoonist, fiction writer, TV scriptwriter, and graphic novelist

Pond first gained fame as the author of The Valley Girls' Guide to Life (Dell, 1982), a young adult book inspired by the "valley girl" subculture. Pond also received enduring notability as the scriptwriter of the 1989 pilot episode of Matt Groening's The Simpsons' Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire as well as writing scripts for TV series Designing Women and Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

After a two-decade-long hiatus to focus on her family, Pond returned to making short humorous, autobiographical comics in the 2000s and 2010s. She also drew the well-received graphic novels Over Easy (2014) and it's second volume The Customer Is Always Wrong (2017), both published by Drawn & Quarterly, partially based on her experiences as a waitress in Oakland at the turn of the 1970s into the 1980s.

In 2014, Mimi Pond's Over Easy won an Inkpot Award and the Pen Center USA Award for "Graphic Literature: Outstanding Body of Work". Her comic When the Menopausal Carnival Comes to Town won a 2021 Eisner Award for "Best Short Story".
